Ones to watch: Royal Blood

I'm a sucker for gritty guitar music any day, but something about Royal Blood's suave indie-grunge has really got me hooked right now. Think White Stripes crossed with Queens of the Stone Age. The bearded two-piece hail from Brighton and only formed last year but are already enjoying heavy airplay from many of Radio One's DJs and rave reviews in the music press. The band are about to embark on a string of dates in the US and Canada so you're unlikely to catch them live in the UK for a while, but check out their self-titled d├ębut album in the meantime.

Check out tracks 'Figure It Out', 'Come on Over' and 'Loose Change' for a comprehensive intro to their sound. Find them on Spotify here because the embed code is playing up!

What have you been listening to this weekend?
