5 Things to Look Forward to at Christmas

Yep, it's that time of year! The John Lewis advert is out - how cute is that penguin? - the mince pies are on supermarket shelves and we're all starting to panic about what to buy friends and relatives. Christmas can be busy, stressful and hard on the bank balance but here are the things I'm most looking forward to during the holiday season.

  1. Dressing the Christmas tree - Every year this is the best! Whether your tree is 8ft and real or 2ft and fake there's something magical about arranging those baubles and switching the fairy lights on.
  2. Wrapping gifts - I love wrapping presents, the fancier the better. Of course it doesn't really matter what it looks like but who can resist Paperchase's Christmas prints?
  3. Chocolate - There was a time when the thought of bowls and tins full of chocolate placed strategically within arms length for two weeks filled me with dread, but I've learnt to embrace the sweet treats and just make sure I jump on the health bandwagon quick sharp come January 1st.
  4. Actual quality time - Time spent with family and friends at Christmas is always that little bit more special. Less time watching TV and more time playing games, catching up and probably over-indulging together.
  5. Christmas films - Elf, A Muppet's Christmas Carol and Miracle on 34th Street are absolute musts for me! Save them for a Christmas Eve marathon if you need something to get you in the festive mood!
What do you love about Christmas?

  1. Wrapping presents is one of my favourite things about Christmas, I love saving them all up to do one evening while watching a Christmas film or listening to Christmas music :)
